With the promise of unified communication, voice, text & video continue to converge. Google's platform has included Google Voice since it bought Grand Central in 2007. In 2013, Google announced a new unified messaging tool called Hangouts, which include voice, text and video calls. The newest update to Hangouts
is a new phone dialer for Android phones. Not only does it seem to be a worthy replacement for the stock Android Dialer, but users in the US and Canada can now make free voice calls. With or without Google Voice. Here are some links to more information about this convergence:
